“No Ventilation” Means Buildup — Filtration Makes it Controllable

We’re not trying to scare anyone. It’s a simple fact: in an enclosed room/cover, particles and TVOC can accumulate over time.

Your options are straightforward: vent outdoors or filter the exhaust path. Our goal is to make your printing environment more controllable and more comfortable.

Different Filaments Release Different Things — Don’t Treat Everything as “Just Smell”

Particles (PM / UFP): Present with PLA/PETG/TPU
Gases (TVOC): Stronger with ABS/ASA/Nylon and other high-temp materials

Triple-Layer Filtration for Maximum Protection

Pre-Filter->HEPA H13 Filter->Activated Carbon Bed

Pre-filter

Captures larger particles and dust, helps with Larger debris, dust, lint

HEPA H13

Captures fine particles, helps with Fine particles from printing

Activated carbon

Adsorbs odors and VOC-related fumes, helps with ABS/ASA smell, printing odor

Testing Data, Not Vibes

Under comparable conditions (same printer, filament,), the curves show that with the filtration system on:
Particle and TVOC readings trend lower and more stable
After a post-print purge, the “door-open” odor spike is noticeably reduced

An MT15 air quality detector was placed inside each printer chamber to monitor particle levels (PM2.5/PM1.0) and VOCs. Additionally, another MT15 detector was positioned outside of each printer to measure particle levels (PM2.5/PM1.0) and VOCs inside the enclosure.

The same file was printed using PLA, PETG, ABS, and ASA filaments, with each print lasting 1–1.5 hours. Data was recorded every 5 minutes throughout the tests.

ABS Filament Testing

BLUE is P1S with the V1 Filtration System, RED is without a filtration system. IN is the air detector inside the printer's chamber, and OUT is the detector located outside the printer. Six data sheets (left and right arrows). 35-40% power of V1 during printing.

ASA Filament Testing

BLUE is P1S with the V1 Filtration System, RED is without a filtration system. IN is the air detector inside the printer's chamber, and OUT is the detector located outside the printer. Six data sheets (left and right arrows). 35-40% power of V1 during printing.

PLA Filament Testing

BLUE is P1S with the V1 Filtration System, RED is without a filtration system. IN is the air detector inside the printer's chamber, and OUT is the detector located outside the printer.Six data sheets (left and right arrows). 50% power of V1 during printing.

PETG Filament Testing

BLUE is P1S with the V1 Filtration System, RED is without a filtration system. IN is the air detector inside the printer's chamber, and OUT is the detector located outside the printer.Six data sheets (left and right arrows). 50% power of V1 during printing.

100mm Standard Ducting + Community Connector Library

Designed for Bambu Lab P1S/X1C, V1 uses standard 100mm inner-diameter tubing, making it compatible with most enclosed printers when a matching exhaust adapter is available. We curate downloadable connector files by printer model, including Bambu Lab 3D Printer H2S/H2D, P2S; Prusa enclosure; Creality 3D Printer, Flashforge 3D Printer... (database is continuously updated). Click this Compatible Connectors List for details.

Easy To Exchange the Filters

Recommended Stacking & Replacement

  • > General use (PLA/PETG and mixed filaments)
    Stacking order: Pre-Filter → HEPA H13 → Activated Carbon
Typical replacement cadence: printing ~8 hours/day → ~3 months per set (actual life varies with material, enclosure cleanliness, and fan speed). Replace sooner if you notice airflow drop, odor breakthrough, or visible discoloration.

  • > VOC-heavy use (ABS/ASA focus)
Alternative stacking for stronger odor control: HEPA H13 → Activated Carbon → Activated Carbon
(Replace the pre-filter with a second carbon stage for increased styrene adsorption. If your enclosure is dusty, keep the pre-filter and shorten the carbon change interval.)

Note: Due to the housing design, the pre-filter uses a half-width outer foam. When using HEPA H13 as the first stagetrim off half of the outer foam gasket on the HEPA’s intake/outside-facing edge to ensure proper fit and airflow sealing. Trim foam only—do not cut into the filter media.

Stay Health with Less Odor

V1 Filtration System FAQs: Compatibility, Filter Layers & Safe 3D Printing Use

Does the Mintion V1 Filtration System fit Bambu Lab P1S and X1C?
Yes. The Mintion V1 3D Printer Filtration System is especially suitable for enclosed Bambu Lab printers such as the P1S and X1C. It is designed to connect to the printer’s exhaust path and help reduce printing odors, fine particles, and VOC-related fumes. Please check the compatibility connector list before purchase to confirm the correct setup for your printer.
Can I use the V1 Filtration System with other 3D printers?
Yes, the V1 can work with other enclosed 3D printers if a suitable connector or exhaust adapter is available. Compatibility depends on your printer model, enclosure design, and airflow path. Please check the compatibility connector list on this page before ordering. Open-frame printers usually need an enclosure to use the V1 effectively.
Does the V1 help reduce ABS and ASA printing smell?
Yes. The V1 is designed to help reduce odors, fine particles, and VOC-related fumes from enclosed 3D printers, especially when printing materials such as ABS and ASA. Results may vary depending on filament type, print duration, airflow setting, enclosure design, filter condition, and room ventilation.
What filter layers does the Mintion V1 use?
The V1 uses a multi-layer filtration system, including a pre-filter, HEPA H13 filter, and activated carbon filter. The pre-filter helps capture larger dust and particles, the HEPA H13 filter helps capture fine particles, and the activated carbon filter helps reduce printing odors and VOC-related fumes from 3D printing materials.
Is the V1 Filtration System a replacement for room ventilation?
No. The V1 is a dedicated filtration system for enclosed 3D printers, but it should not be considered a full replacement for proper room ventilation. For materials such as ABS, ASA, Nylon, or other high-temperature filaments, users should still follow safe printing practices and keep the room properly ventilated when needed.
How often should I replace the V1 filter?
Filter life depends on filament type, printing hours, airflow setting, room environment, and how often the printer is used. Users who frequently print ABS, ASA, Nylon, or other odor-producing materials may need to replace the filter sooner than users who mainly print PLA or PETG. Replace the filter when odor reduction becomes weaker, airflow is reduced, or the filter has reached the recommended usage period.
Can it be used with a laser engraver?
We don't suggest using it for a laser engraver. This filtration system is designed for the enclosure 3D printer air purifier, especially for ABS/ASA/PC/PA filament printing. While the substances released during laser engraving or cutting differ from those released during 3D printing. Engraving or cutting primarily releases fumes containing debris, dust, and oil fumes, requiring filtration with a different filter than that used in 3D printing.
