This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to perform an upgrade for Mintion laser camera firmware via a Micro SD card.
Step 1: Prepare the Lasercam
Disconnect the Mintion lasercam power supply and remove the Micro SD card.
Step 2: Prepare the SD Card
Using a card reader, install the Micro SD card into your computer.
Step 3: Download Firmware
Download the firmware file from thelink
Step 4: Copy Firmware to SD Card
Copy the downloaded firmware file to the first-level directory of the lasercam Micro SD card.
Note: Do not modify the name of the firmware or place it in any subfolders, as the laser camera won't be able to recognize it. This step is critical to the upgrade process.
Step 5: Install the SD Card into the Camera
Install the Micro SD card back into the laser camera and power it on.
Step 6: Wait for Restart
Wait for the device to play the voice prompt "suceess connect to Wi-Fi" or "camera is ready for Wi-Fi configuration". This indicates that the laser camera has restarted successfully.
Note: The specific voice prompt you hear will depend on whether the device was connected to the network before the upgrade.
Step 7: Verify the Upgrade
In the BeagleEngrave APP, enter the device page, click on your device, find the gear icon in the upper right corner, and select "Firmware Upgrade" or "Camera Information" to view the firmware information.
Note: If the upgrade is successful, the firmware will show the updated version and inform you that it's up to date.
Alternatively, you can verify the upgrade by accessing the BeagleEngrave web. Enter your password to log in, go to the device page, find the "Setting" text box and click it. Then find the Firmware Upgrade below (or check the firmware version in Camera info), and click on it to view the firmware information.
Note: If the upgrade is not successful, please check our guides on how to save a bricked LaserCamera.
